From the central farmlands to Caynon del Atuel





This is my 1st long drive.  It took me from 6:30 am to about 4:00pm.  The drive started with hour after hour of green farmland, turned to scrub brush around San Luis, then into the Grand Canyon of Argentina, which is similar to the southwest USA.   I found a nice campground by the river.




I had a wonderful hike in the hills overlooking the river and campground



Below is the campground owner and Doncan (also staying at the campground) competing to help me find the perfect places to visit.  Doncan was traveling with his very cute wife and 2 devoted dogs.  He has traveled all over Argentina.  This is typical Argentine hospitality.



The next drive will take me to my 1st view of the Andes and snow covered peaks.

    What an amazing journey! South America is beautiful and it is good to see it this way, through your eyes, as you travel. I feel like I am seeing what it's really like in SA.
